Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso in West Africa, meaning "people living in the land of integrity." An area of 274,200 square kilometers. Population of 13 million, divided into two ethnic Walter and Mount Tai Department. From the top down, the flag has two equal sides of red and green with the center augmented with a golden five-pointed star. Red symbolizes the revolution and green symbolizes agriculture, construction and hope. The five-pointed star is a symbol of the revolutionary guide and yellow is a symbol of wealth.

History

In the ninth century, the main Mosey family established a kingdom there. In the 15th century, the Mossi tribe leader established the Kingdom of Asia and Ouagadougou. It became a French colony in 1904 and a semi-autonomous republic in 1957. In December 1958, it became a common body of France. On August 5, 1960, there was a declaration of independence. On August 4, 1984, the country changed its name to Burkina Faso.

Economic and Cultural Customs

Economy is agriculture and animal husbandry, with 90% of people engaged in agriculture, especially in the central and southern agricultural areas. The main food crops are sorghum, maize and rice. Cash crops are cotton, peanuts and Kalitemi. Industrially backward and resource-poor, it is one of the world's least developed countries.

Many film festivals are held in Ouagadougou, including the biennial Pan-African Film Festival. Some of the major African film industry organizations and technical facilities are concentrated here, notably the Pan-African film distributor and film production center known as "Africa's" Hollywood. Ouagadougou's hand-woven market is prosperous. Straw, wood carving, embroidery, prints and other traditional crafts, especially weaving and wood carving, are unique. The Mossi tribe still retains the respect of the Mossi emperor, ritual, the emperor's early morning night break notice should be fired on Friday, the day subjects received for the emperor.
