Algeria - the state of animal husbandry
Algeria is located in northwest Africa, all known as the
Democratic People's Republic of Algeria. An area of 2,381,700 square
kilometers. Population of 31.36 million, mostly Arabs, followed by
the Berbers. Islam is the state religion, official language is
Arabic, but French. Algerian dinar currency. Algiers (Alger).
Algeria's green flag symbolizes the future and hope and the white
purity and peace. At the end of the central flag is a curved red
moon and a red five-pointed star. The five-pointed star and crescent
are symbols of Muslim countries.
In the fifth century BC, the Berber Kingdom was established in
northern Algeria. Post-Romans, Byzantine, Arab, Spanish, Turkish and
French conquerors all invaded. It became a French colony in 1905. On
November 1, 1954, the Azerbaijani people launched an armed uprising.
On September 19, 1958, the interim government was set up. On July 5,
1962, the formal declaration of independence was made.
Economic and Cultural Customs
Algeria's oil and gas industries are its economic pillars. Steel,
machinery, electricity, food, and textile industries are also
important as are grass weaving, wood and jewelry processing.
Agricultural products are mainly wheat, grapes and grass. Algeria
attaches great importance to combating desertification and
water-saving irrigation technologies. Zuke La Pipe is a popular
national instrument in Algeria. When it is squeezed by the airbag
made of sheepskin, the air immediately pushes through a tube,
vibrates at the top reed and gives out a sound.
In southern Algeria, 80% of the total land area is desert. In the
central part is a wide flat plateau, whereas on the Mediterranean
coast it is a narrow coastal plain. The coastal climate is
Mediterranean, and south of the desert it is tropical. Annual
precipitation is 700 mm.
Located 70 km west of Algiers, this is a famous tourist
destination in Algeria. Originally a Phoenician commercial city, it
was listed in the territory of Rome in the first and second
centuries. Here, ancient city ruins, temples, churches, theaters and
other ancient architectural monuments are located inside the
perimeter wall of 2000 m. A local museum has a collection of Roman
statues, sarcophagi, household devices and handicrafts uncovered
from the excavated ruins.
